A POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case has been lodged against a senior official of the Telangana Basketball Association.
Police reports indicate that the mother of a young basketball player filed the complaint in Hyderabad, alleging that the association’s general secretary repeatedly made sexual remarks and behaved inappropriately toward her daughter over a two‑year span.
“The general secretary had made sexual remarks and misbehaved with her daughter over the past two years” the complaint stated.
Following the allegation, Madhapur Police Station registered the case on July 24 under the relevant sections of the POCSO Act.
Investigators said the probe is ongoing and further action will be determined based on the evidence gathered.
