Indian actress Ananya Raj, known for her roles in the Hindi films 7 Hours to Go, The Final Exit and Ghost, as well as the Telugu thriller Thaggede Le, died on 15 July 2026 at the age of 27. Her family announced that she passed away peacefully in her sleep after battling physical and mental health problems for more than a year.

In a brief note posted on the actress’s official Instagram account, the family wrote that Ananya “fought like a warrior” against her ailments, describing her as a “strong‑spirited girl who lived like a queen.” The statement asked for privacy and urged fans to pray for her soul.

Born in 1991 and raised in Mumbai, Raj entered the film industry with the 2016 release 7 Hours to Go. She went on to appear in The Final Exit (2017) and the supernatural drama Ghost (2019), earning recognition in both Bollywood and regional cinema. In 2022 she featured in the Telugu suspense thriller Thaggede Le, directed by Srinivas Raju, and later appeared in the trilingual project Madrasi Gang. In addition to films, she was seen in several music videos produced by major labels such as T‑Series, Zee Music and Times Music.

The AICWA tribute, released on 16 August 2026, highlighted Raj’s contributions across Hindi and regional cinema and expressed condolences to her family, calling her loss “irreparable” for the film fraternity. Industry colleagues and fans also shared messages of sorrow on social media, recalling her performances and wishing her peace.

Raj’s death marks a premature loss for an actress who had begun to carve a niche in both mainstream and regional projects, and whose brief but varied body of work continues to be remembered by audiences and peers alike.
